Privacy Policy

Effective September 18, 2026

Voicescape is built to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we see, what we don't, and why.

1. Privacy by design

There are no username-and-password accounts, no email signups, no phone numbers. Your wallet is your identity, and most of what the platform sees is already public on the Hedera network.

2. What we collect

We collect only what the platform needs to function:

  • Wallet identifiers: when you connect a wallet, we see its public address (for example, 0.0.xxxxx). This is public information on Hedera.
  • On-chain activity: tips sent and received, purchases, fundraiser progress, and page registrations are recorded on the Hedera network. This data is public and permanent by the nature of the blockchain — we do not control it.
  • Anonymous telemetry: we count tip successes and failures and record a coarse, optional surface label (for example, whether the tip happened on a blockpage or a post) to detect broken features. These counts contain no wallet addresses, IP addresses, or page identifiers.
  • Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics — to understand aggregate traffic (such as visitor counts, countries, and popular pages). This does not track you personally.
  • Support: if you contact us through the Discord #customer-support channel, we see the messages you send there, as Discord does.
  • Copyright notices: a DMCA takedown notice or counter-notice must by law include the reporter's name, contact information, and signature. Notices filed through the form at /dmca are kept in a private log so we can act on them and keep an audit trail; they are never published.
  • Data-rights requests: if you submit a request through the form at /privacy-request, we record the request type and your wallet address (so we can answer) with a timestamp. No email or other contact details are collected.

2a. Lawful basis (EU/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process the limited data above on these bases:

  • Consent: connecting your wallet and submitting forms (copyright notices, data-rights requests, support messages) — you choose to share that information with us.
  • Legitimate interests: operating the platform, keeping it secure, and preventing abuse (for example, rate limits and spam prevention).
  • Legal obligation: retaining copyright notices and acting on them as required by the DMCA.

2b. Data minimization

We keep only what the platform needs to function and nothing more: no names, emails, or addresses at sign-up; wallet addresses instead of accounts; aggregate counts instead of per-user tracking. New features are built against the same rule — if the platform doesn't need a piece of personal data, we don't collect it.

3. What we never collect

We do not collect or store your name, email address, phone number, or physical address. We do not store your private keys or seed phrases — ever. We do not sell personal data, and we run no advertising trackers.

4. Public by nature: the blockchain

Anything you do on-chain — tips, purchases, page registrations — is visible to anyone with access to the Hedera network, forever. Do not put information on-chain that you want to keep private.

5. Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The site may use strictly necessary technical storage in your browser (such as remembering your language or theme preference). Our analytics are cookieless.

6. Children

Voicescape is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you. Because we hold almost nothing about you, most requests will simply confirm that.

On-chain data cannot be deleted by us — it is controlled by the Hedera network, not by Voicescape.

To make a request, use the form at /privacy-request (sign in with your wallet so we can answer it) or contact us via the Discord #customer-support channel. We respond to every request; if we hold nothing about you, we'll say so.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will update the effective date above. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
